Residential privacy issues don’t need to go unresolved because of planning issues

Many properties in Ireland, even the finest and most exclusive, have significant privacy and overlooking issues with neighbouring properties and/or public roads.

Many privacy and overlooking issues go unresolved due to planning issues around erecting a boundary wall or fence. This can be disheartening for homeowners, they have their dream home, but no privacy.

One of our clients, living in one of Dublin’s finest properties had this very issue. They were overlooked by the neighbouring property. They were unable to solve this with a built solution, due to planning constraints.

Our garden build provided the solution that gave them the privacy they desired, and brought a new dimension to their overall garden design.

How we solved a privacy issue?

We sourced and planted 4 meter tall Portuguese laurels (Prunus lusatanica angustifolia) along the neighbouring boundary. This provided an instant screen to resolve the issue, bringing a natural solution.

These plants were hand picked from one of our growers in Europe with whom we have long standing relationships over the last 20 years. They were transported to the site and unloaded with Specialist handling equipment. We then planted them in a prepared humus rich soil and supported with an underground anchoring system.
Once planted they were fed with a natural seaweed feed and had organic microbes and mycorrhizal fungi added to the soil surface to create a natural soil environment
